Cheap seats in the theatre

The cheap seats in each theatre are those where the live theatre experience is lessened to some extent, either by being a long way back from the stage, by being up in the ‘gods’ with a downward perspective or else by having a restricted view of the performance due to the interior design of the theatre building. Remember that most if not all of the old theatres in London’s theatreland were built during the victorian era before modern contructions methods, so they often have large pillars holding the upper tiers and roof up.
