You will also have to line up rather early to be guaranteed good seats, but a lot of people prefer TKTS because you definitely won't get cheated and have to pay more. Also, if there is a particular show that you want, call the theatre and see if they offer any special deals. When Ewan McGregor and Jane Krakowski were in Guys and Dolls, I found out that the theatre offered the front row of tickets for twenty pounds.
