Michael Jackson ticket refunds

More than 750,000 fans are waiting for details on ticket refunds and the British government’s consumer protection board told them not to hold their breath, as complex legal issues need to be worked out first.

Los Angeles-based tour operator AEG Live, which operates the 02 Arena where Jackson was to have performed, may be entitled to less money from insurance if post mortem results are unfavourable. They stated that ticket refund details should be announced this week, but much of the company’s ability to weather the financial storm caused by Jackson’s demise may depend on how much of its losses are covered by insurance.

That will be determined in part by what the Los Angeles County coroner’s office finally determines as the cause of the mega-star’s death. Officials have warned it will be up to six weeks before a cause of death can be pinpointed, because complicated toxicology tests are needed.

Ticketmaster Entertainment Inc., the primary ticket seller, did not provide details of refund plans on Monday; its website simply quoted an AEG Live statement promising information this week. While these issues are being worked on, Jackson fans who purchased tickets on eBay or through viagogo on the secondary ticket market may be in for an easier time.

Viagogo executives said Friday that all tickets would be refunded “No forms, no fuss, just refunded.” And eBay executives have extended a buyer protection program to cover anyone who bought a ticket through the company’s Web site.

“You’ll be covered for the full amount of the transaction, not just the face value of the ticket,” eBay spokeswoman Jenny Thomas said Monday. That means people who paid three or four times the face value for a chance to see Jackson should get all their money back.

She said the company has not yet worked out details of the refund plan, including whether the company or the ticket sellers would ultimately be responsible for refunds.

Thriller Live! theatre tickets are not affected because Michael Jackson was never due to be in the show.

cheapest way to get tickets for london theatre/musicals?

Hi there, I am new to London and I want to do the rounds and see what the west-end has to offer… Esp interested in Mary Poppins, Wicked, Chicago, Blue Man Group etc.

What is the best and cheapest way to get tickets? And where from?

Should I book months in advance, or go to the theatre on the night? Or on the web? Any advice is greatly appreciated! Cheers!

In Kazakhstan we take ticket from puny looking guy outside theatre… it not cost a penny… if he call police.. you must quickly jump in tank and blow the place to pieces…

Money exchange and theatre tickets in London?

Can anyone advise if it better to change currency US$ to GBP at a money exchange or a bank in London. Also as I am travelling in early September I am looking at going to a theatre matinee-any ideas what is on and what you would recommend.

take your ATM card and just withdraw money. The bank will give you a better exchange rate than a money exchange and you can also use the post office to change money.

Half price theatre tickets in London?

I was wondering whether you can buy the half price theatre tickets from those booths around Leicester square for any date or can you only buy them for the date you turn up to one of those booths? Also is there anywhere else i could buy half price theatre tickets?

ok, the offcial tkts booth on leicester is for on the day only, some of the other unoffcial booths are just agents so you can book for whenever. We use Lastminute.com alot they have meal & show deals too, also see.co.uk, e bay can be good, but with all deals if they are too good to be true they usually are!!
