Half price theatre tickets in London?

I was wondering whether you can buy the half price theatre tickets from those booths around Leicester square for any date or can you only buy them for the date you turn up to one of those booths? Also is there anywhere else i could buy half price theatre tickets?

ok, the offcial tkts booth on leicester is for on the day only, some of the other unoffcial booths are just agents so you can book for whenever. We use Lastminute.com alot they have meal & show deals too, also see.co.uk, e bay can be good, but with all deals if they are too good to be true they usually are!!

Based on actual experience, what is the best website for buying London theatre tickets ?

Looking for the site which is consistently the cheapest (ticket price, service charge, postage), most reliable and has the best access to tickets. Similar opinions on theatre / hotel package sites would be welcome as well i.e. standard of hotel, total price

Based on actual experience please, rather than a random Google search.

Cheers

seetickets.com has always been good, or ticketmaster

where can i buy tickets to see oliver in the west end (where nancy has been chosen on BBC's id do anything)

i would love to see it in london as ive never been to see anything in the west end but i have no idea where its going to be or where to buy tickets! thanks

Try the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. The show will be opening there later on this year after Lord of the Rings closes.

Why are Broadway tickets generally more expensive than the West End’s

I’ve seen both Broadway and West End versions of Wicked, Hairspray, Jersey Boys, Chicago etc… But can’t see an obvious difference in the quality of performance. Yet there is considerable difference in price.

(Box office sale only – I know that there are offers/discounts for both)

Anyone know why?

:)

ya i noticed that too. I saw Wicked on Broadway for $150 a ticket. Then when I went to London I saw the West End version for 12.50 pounds. I was shocked. thats like $25. and in all honesty the west end production was MUCH better. the cast was more talented. I gues it really is location, but it shouldnt be.

im going to london soon is there anywhere i can get cheap theatre tickets on the day?

Like most people have said, head for Leicester Square.

The official cheap ticket vendor is called "tkts" and is in a little hut in Leicester Square itself. Most tickets are sold at half-price, plus a £2.50 booking fee.

Beware that the ticket shops next to the Underground station are different, privately-run places. Don't get them mixed up with the real thing!

If you have web access while you're visiting, the tkts website lists what they're selling each day.

Cheap theatre tickets for date tomorrow?

Hi, need to get hold of a pair of theatre tickets in west end (london) for saturday night, not pantomine please!!

I believe there's a place near Picadilly Circus where you can get last minute tickets to any theatre !! Ask a cabbie driver there , he'll know where !! God luck and Happy New Year !
